Portfolio IQ is a personal finance calculation tool that helps you organise and analyse investment transaction data. It is designed to assist with:
All calculations are performed locally in your browser using data you provide. The app fetches live market prices from third-party APIs (Yahoo Finance, Frankfurter) solely to assist with valuations.
Important: Portfolio IQ is a calculation and organisational tool only. Nothing in this application constitutes financial, tax, legal, or investment advice. Output from this app should not be used as the sole basis for any financial or tax decision.
You are solely responsible for verifying the accuracy of all calculations and for consulting a qualified accountant, tax agent, or financial adviser for advice specific to your circumstances.
Tax laws — including the treatment of capital gains, the 50% CGT discount, and cost basis methodologies — vary by jurisdiction and change over time. Portfolio IQ makes no warranty that its calculations comply with the tax rules applicable to you.
Portfolio IQ relies on data you upload, and on live prices sourced from third-party APIs. We make no guarantee that:

You agree to use Portfolio IQ only for lawful, personal purposes. You must not:
Access to Portfolio IQ requires signing in with a Google or Yahoo account via OAuth. By signing in, you agree to the terms of service of those providers.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must not share your account with others. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to any account that violates these terms.
All software, design, and content comprising Portfolio IQ is owned by its operator and protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws. These terms do not grant you any ownership rights in the application.
You retain full ownership of any transaction data or files you upload. By using the application, you are not granting us any licence over that data — it is processed locally and never transmitted to us.
Portfolio IQ is provided on a best-effort basis. We do not guarantee that the application will be available at all times, or that it will be free from errors or interruptions.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the application (or any feature of it) at any time, with or without notice. We also reserve the right to update these terms at any time — the effective date above will reflect any changes.
To the maximum extent permitted by law: Portfolio IQ is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We accept no liability for any loss or damage — including financial loss, tax penalties, or errors in calculations — arising from your use of this application.
Nothing in these terms limits any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded by agreement.
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Any disputes arising under these terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.
